The plot

A Tune of Kora | Narrative Short | 13 minutes / 2019 | Director: Angèle Diabang | Country: Senegal | Salma, a veiled Muslim girl, dreams of being a Kora player, but in her tradition, a woman can’t play this instrument. One day, while recovering the Kora for her musician father, in repair in a Monastery, a monk gives her the opportunity to secretly take lessons with the monk Manuel, a Kora virtuoso. The apprenticeship turns into a dangerous idyll.
