15th CYPRUS INTERNATIONAL FILM FESTIVAL
The Cyprus International Film Festival (CYIFF) is one of the TOP 100 Best Reviewed Festivals among 5.500 film festivals worldwide according to FilmFreeway. It takes place annually, under the umbrella of Cultural International Festivals in cooperation with CINE@ART FESTIVALS network, on the beautiful Mediterranean island of Cyprus.
The Cyprus International Film Festival is the biggest of artistic high value independent cinema event of the whole region, spilling over Cyprus boundaries and spreading over the whole region with repercussions reaching worldwide. CYIFF is the first internationally oriented film festival which offers new and upcoming directors in multiple sectors of entertainment (such as feature films, short films, animations, music videos, dance, experimental films and video art) the opportunity to showcase their talent in front of a jury of internationally acclaimed cinema experts, directors and actors. CYIFF has a competitive section. Films produced the last 36 months, by emerging directors are selected for the screening program.
CYIFF promotes both Cypriot film directors and Cypriots artists living abroad through the film category Nostimon Imar and awarded Cypriot Film Directors, as well as the history of Cyprus. The festival and the parallel events create an important meeting place for Cypriots and foreign filmmakers. The prize Golden Aphrodite is being judged by a distinguished panel of experts in the international film industry.
Over the years we have had the privilege to work with hundreds of artists and filmmakers who have told wonderful stories. Many have gone on to make great films in different genres. The organizers of the Cyprus International Film Festival again make the difference in the film world by offering to all selected and awarded films of independent filmmakers who participated in Cyprus International Film Festivals since 2006 the option to enter free of charge the distribution platform Inspire-TV.com
The 15th edition of the Cyprus International Film Festival will be held in two venues so that we can fully implement the required COVID 19 safety protocols, from 14/11/2020 to 21/11/2020. The Cinema will host the film screenings and the Melina Merkouri Cultural Center in Old Nicosia will host the parallel events as well as the photo exhibition "FotoMessage - Balancing at the Green Line" in cooperation with the Nicosia Branch of Cyprus Photographic Society.
In addition to the live and the online screenings there will be discussion and networking panels with experts from the international entertainment industry at the new online show Inspire-TV #LiveTalks powered by Inspire-TV
