Come Closer

Two lovers are trying to overcome Social Distancing. A young man dreams of his distant lover. All attempts to overcome the physical distance fail. Finally, he leaves his protected space and follows his vision of her into the vastness of the night. In the magical Blue Hour, the impossible becomes reality.

An homage to the New Nearness, the appreciation for personal closeness which all of us have regained after the lockdown experience.

Pindorama

Music video that exalts the beauty of Brazil. Homage to culture, and also to the Brazilian composer Ary Barroso, author of the song Aquarela do Brasil, which is considered a masterpiece of the "samba exaltação" (exalting samba) style.

Connected

In a near future world humanity has been deprived of closeness of each other through technological communication advancements. A sound of a human voice has become almost forgotten, a touch of a person close to you almost extinct and direct interactions almost forbidden. A small boy, Timmy full of curiosity and need to learn the world that surrounds him goes on a journey to learn the value of interpersonal communication, human emotions and expressing them through discovering the underground art of theater. The boy attempts to adopt a play portraying an early 21st century family into his own relationship with his parents.

Short Cuts

Stay Home

“Stay home” intends to contribute to collective consciousness to avoid going out during coronavirus massive spread. “Corona means crown but it won’t make you king”. Actually, it might even kill you. So, the idea is not to go on the streets unless you really need to. Stay home, and keep safe. Arrangements by Urca Bossa Jazz band, and many guest singers.

CINE, ME

I made an experimental short film titled, "CINE, ME." In this film, I try to combine two things, my birth and the birth of cinema. I spent most of my life time with cinema. My life is strongly related to the cinema so I just tried to mix the story of my life and the history of cinema together. Plus, in my opinion, there are some crucial elements to cinema such as steam power, the sewing machine, the train, and so on which allowed the cinema to be born and grow. This is my thought. Thus, I attempt to show and represent those elements in this film. I believe that a film editor is quite similar to a tailor, in that they sew together 16mm physical film. I hope you enjoy my work and are inspired by it.

One Nation, Under Quarantine

At the midpoint of the spring 2020 academic semester, college students were forced to leave their campuses and continue their education through alternative means when the Coronavirus outbreak made landfall in the United States. As all scrambled to maintain their academic efficiency, a group of documentary students took the chance to capture their new realities under these odd circumstances. Using whatever equipment they had access to, they show how the pandemic affected the world.

Oh Mom!

Complicated family relationships, awkward silence at the dinner table and a visit at the post office - but in an extraordinary take.
