A film about the complexity in which Black folks respond to coded language. The short explores Du Bois' concept of "double consciousness" and gives space for the subconscious of three Black New Yorkers to do all the talking.

Georgetown University sold hundreds of enslaved people to stave off bankruptcy, scattering them across the South, never to see each other again. With the help of DNA databases, their descendants are reconnecting six generations later. FINDING US is a portrait of four descendants who are using their unique talents to regrow the family trees felled nearly two centuries ago.

Director Mosiah Fit, plays himself in this short film. He is having a nightmare of the cruel, and terroristic reality of the American culture. In the background you can hear the new rendition of the national anthem, written and sung by Jill Scott. Scenes of a lecture of our warrior ancestor, Dr. Khalid Abdul Muhammad flashes. Mosiah wakes up out of this nightmare with a permanent tattoo on his forehead, that says something very thought provoking.
