The plot
As the sole male household in an old community under urban renewal, nine-year-old Ah-Quan and his uncle and grandparents had to earn a living by performing Taiwanese opera on different occasions. A storm gradually shadows over the family as his grandfather is diagnosed with moderate dementia, his grandmother on the verge of a breakdown, his mother comes back from prison, and his father whom he had never met suddenly appears…
