The plot

Mackenzie, a talented singer, seeks to escape her past through songwriting and a twelve step program. Meanwhile, her estranged father, Ray, an LAPD detective about to retire, tracks her down. The delicate opportunity for the two to reconnect is fraught with obstacles when Mac's ex boyfriend, Fox, suddenly appears on the scene. After Ray is forced to step in to protect his daughter from Fox, he takes her back to their old home where the healing really begins.
