The plot

Set in the present in the outskirts of London, we explore a diverse set of characters who sit down and talk out loud their modern-day anxieties. Free without judgement, the group delve into the thoughts that most of us have in our lives but keep hidden from the real world. With each character taking us on a different journey with every messed-up story, we soon realise there is a strong community here in which anyone is welcome. We centralise around Alan and how he got there, who he meets and most importantly, why he keeps coming back! We also focus on Janine, Alan’s newly unasked life partner and her unique way of entering someone's life, we follow their 21st century love story (getting her pregnant on the first date) and how their relationship develops through the course of the pregnancy, from in denial and regret at the beginning, they leap to acceptance and toleration of each other by the end. And all with their fix of group therapy, welcome to Autumn Tree.
